I've had a few discussions today...Yes I can can hear the opinions; what difference does it make if we turn off the lights for one hour..But it is not about that at all!! We make a statement by taking part of this activity. I also believe that an activity like that makes us more aware and enlightened in our daily life.Education-Attitude-Action
(I am not sure if I found the right words.
But the point beeing: we have resources to be educated in environmental problems, so we are responsible to get attitudes to go with that, and than we can to something about the problems.)

What a great contribution and interesting reflections from a Norwegian - thanks for sharing and I do agree: It's about giving a significant signal and also to be a role model for the future generation!
Of course you are listed at my blog's Earth Hour 2010 Link Love Chain :-)
Oh I hear you on this one, I also experienced the same negative tones from people and my thinking is that people love to be a part of something big and if a handful of people come from Earth Hour determined to be more environmentally aware then it's been a good movement- of course many will turn their lights on after an hour and not think anymore about it...but some might begin doing other things to protect the world they live in and that can only be good! I don't understand why some people have to be so negative all the time- and why make such a stink about turning off the lights for an hour if it's really "no big deal?" Ugh, some people just love being negative and we can't help people like that....just focus on those who would like to attempt to make a change...
Looks like you guys had a koselig evening...it was nice here too and we played Yatzy with the kids- after three rounds I finally won- then we could quit!!! hahahaha.....
Very well said Eva. I agree 100%...Michelle
We live in a "disposable" mindset generation. Most have never had to "save" anything...just go buy a new one...a "I want it.and I want it now" generation. It will take some time to change that way of thinking.
